Emily’s Roses

Emily lives in the small village of Jefferson. Jefferson is certainly a village where her family has resided for generations, and where her family may have “held themselves just a little to large for what these were;” so these were cured as such. Emily is certainly kept house by her dad and almost hidden from the whole village; the gentlemen callers who dared arrive calling for Miss Emily’s palm were just “vanquished” by her daddy. They weren't of “social standing up” to become permitted her period and company. In her fathers eye Emily was the previous to keep their “noblesse oblige” duty as a Grierson. I believe Emily couldn’t escape her friends and family’s fate as a result of her dad and her townspeople. Also if Emily wished to shed the family standing, she couldn’t. The city would never have recognized her as anything, but a “Grierson.” Even as the generations modification, Emily’s family reputation continues to be known. Years of solitude couldn’t change her status. Emily obviously lived a unfortunate and lonely lifestyle. Her dad had taken every expect love from her as a result of the regarded “August” brand. I believe because of her daddy’s loss of life and the sweetheart who deserted her, she realized that she possessed one last chance to create a fresh life, and she had a new opportunity for love (or simply companionship). When she reappears following the burial of her daddy, she has a fresh look of a girl. I believe this is Emily’s try to become the main town, rather then “a custom,” “a duty,” and “a care.” During this time period she satisfies Homer, a “Northerner,” who she actually is seen riding throughout town on “Sunday
